Jacob Remembers SURGE and a Great Friend
Jacob tells us of his memories of SURGE and a very special lady who introduced him to it:
I have just recently found your site and I think it is one of the best sites out there. I figure I should fill you in on my SURGE story. Lou Ann Coleman was my sitter on every other weekend from when I was around 2 until 10, when she died of cancer (r.i.p.) One thing I will always remember about her (other than her humor and great artistic attributes) is that she was the one who first introduced me to SURGE. Most of the time she watched my brother and me at our house, but this was one of those lucky days when we got to go to "Wann-Wan's house" (when I was little I coudn't say Lou Ann and the nickname stuck.) Anyway I went to her fridge and saw a 12-pack of a drink I'd never saw before, SURGE. I asked her what it tasted like and she said she haden't tried it yet either and she only got it because she loved the art work (this was in 1997 when the old logo was still around.) So we tried it and ended up drinking 6 apeice and still wanting more. I always wanted my parents to buy me some but they said it had too much sugar. So whenever I went to Lou Ann's we would drink SURGE. What amazed me is that I thought SURGE was more of a "youth drink" but in her 40's she drank it down. She didn't live to see SURGE go belly up and I think she would have been your most dedicated fan. I would really appreciate it if you put this on "For the Love of SURGE" dedicated to her. She was a great woman and was taken from us too soon. Let Lou Ann Coleman's memory live on forever!
Sincerly,
Jacob H.
Thanks Jacob! That's a great way to remember Lou Ann.
