Scott's Memories of SURGE
Thinking of SURGE brings Scott back to the good old days:
Well as I remember those days of the late nineties I still think of that soda that got away. I was a young boy of thirteen exploring the world of soda as I knew it. I was mostly a rootbeer kind of guy dabbling in Cherry 7up and other off the wall products. I noticed Surge once at a local convenience store. It was so convenient that it was next to the comic book store that I loved to go to. I tried it and fell in love with it. I would spend that entire summer of 2000 going to the comic book store, then going next door and buying a 1 liter of Surge. It would last me the walk home and then I would want another. I must have spent so much on that stuff. The best day though was when I discovered the "you've won a Surge bucket hat" cap on one of my Surge bottles in late 2002. I wanted to send it in but heard of the news that Surge was now over. I was so saddened that I threw my cap away. Thus leading to my hate towards Coke and its evil heartbreaking ways. I tried my first Vault today and automatically thought of my love for Surge. It was so close but no cigar. I enjoy Vault now and we even carry it at my job. So yay I can drink it up. However it is but a mere shade of what Coke used to be when it had Surge. Also I remember 7-11 carrying Surge Slurpees at one point. Those were the days that I wish would never end.
