Greetings fellow SURGE
fans and welcome to the 69th edition of SaveSURGE News! We treat
SURGE like one of the family.
Sightings Report
There was 1 new SURGE Sighting
reported since the last edition of SaveSURGE News. It is in San
Diego, CA.
We also had one Sighting sent to us that was for
20oz. bottles at Outdoor World in Arundle Mills Mall, Anne Arundle
County, MD but we are going to confirm it before adding it to the
big list.
There was more good news as there were no deletions.
Currently, there are 154 SURGE Sightings listed.
Thanks to all of you who look for SURGE wherever you go!
Coca-Cola Interview Update
We've received numerous inquiries over the past week regarding SaveSURGE.org's
interview with Coca-Cola. At this point we have not received anything
from Coke but be patient, it's coming! As you might imagine, a company
the size of Coca-Cola receives many requests for interviews and
it no doubt takes a lot of time and effort to fulfill them all.
Plus, the questions I asked were kind of complicated and definitely
required more than "Yes or No" answers!
Fear not, SURGE fans, when we hear something you
will be the first to know!
Avery's Back!
I am very glad to report that SaveSURGE.org Co-Webmaster Avery Lund
is feeling much better after his recent illness! I know he appreciates
all of your concerns.
Mat Admires SURGE from Across the Pond
Recently we heard from a very dedicated SURGE fan named Mat who
lives all the way over in England! He got his first taste of that
fully loaded citrus soda back in 2000 while on vacation in Florida.
Unfortunately, when he returned to Florida this year it was nowhere
to be found.
Mat wrote in to show his support for SaveSURGE.org
and to let us know that he'll be looking for SURGE on his upcoming
trip to New York. Best of luck, Mat! We hope you get to taste SURGE
once again!
Have You Seen Citra?
There
has been a lot of talk on the SaveSURGE.org
Bulletin Board recently about SURGE's close relative, Citra.
As many of you know, Citra is a caffeine-free citrus soda also produced
by Coca-Cola. Sadly, it has been disappearing from store shelves
in many areas of the country during the past few months. Many SURGE
fans have requested a way to locate this tasty grapefruit flavored
beverage and so we decided to create a special category on the bulletin
board where users may post their Citra
Sightings.
Mind you this does not mean the start of a separate
campaign (there will be no SaveCitra.org, at least not from us!)
but rather it's a way to allow fans to help each other to find this
great soda.
We will not be doing this for any other soda,
but we gladly made an exception in Citra's case because it is so
closely related to our beloved SURGE.
If you are interested in locating other sodas,
a great resource is BevNet's BevBoard located at: http://www.bevnet.com/bevboard/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
New Products Added to Store
The
SaveSURGE.org Store is home to two more products to help you spread
the word. A long-sleeve t-shirt was added to help you stay warm
during those crisp autumn evenings while a great looking chrome
license plate frame will help you show your SURGE on the road.

Shepard Promoting More than SURGE
SaveSURGE.org Hall of Famer Shepard Ritzen wrote in to inform us
about a very talented friend of his. His name is Jonathan Rosenberg
and he is a singer/songwriter whom Shepard is helping to book shows
in the Philadelphia area.
Those of you in the Philadelphia area will definitely
want to check out Jonathan's upcoming show on 11/5/03 at Grape Street
Pub in Manayunk, PA. It starts at 8:30 pm and the cost is a mere
$5.00!

Poll Results - Just the Original, Thanks
The latest SURGE Poll asked you: If Coca-Cola made new flavors of
SURGE, which one would you like to try the most?
45.8% - None - I'll stick with the original
19.1% - Cherry SURGE
14.6% - Orange SURGE
10.1% - Blueberry SURGE
5.7% - Chocolate SURGE
4.4% - Vanilla SURGE
Total Votes: 157
Hmmm, I would have thought Chocolate SURGE would
have received more votes! Oh well, nothing beats the original!!!
That's all the time we have for this week. Thanks
for your love of SURGE!
Sincerely,
Eric Karkovack
Co-Webmaster
