Kristie's SURGE Story
Kristie tells us about how she first fell in love with SURGE and how it was a big part of her college life:

It was fall 1997 and I was in my senior year of college when I first experienced SURGE. A drug store in my hometown was having a special Coke promotional sale and SURGE was 3 12 packs for $6. My mom bought 3 packs for me to take back to school. It was love at the first sip and I immediately called my mom to go back and buy the limit - not telling her that my roommates and I already had driven to another town and bought them out! I have never been a person to drink soft drinks, and my mom really thought she was buying the drinks more for my roommates than me. I could easily drink a 6 pack in less than 30 minutes. It got to the point that my roommate started rationing the cans to me, because we went to school in a small town where it was not easy to get such luxuries ;) But every night at 10 I HAD to have a SURGE. That was my time to wind down for the evening and my beverage of choice - SURGE! I'm not one that is really effected by caffeine, so it wasn't about the caffeine rush, but the taste! I consistently purchased SURGE where ever and when ever I could. It slowly became harder and harder to locate, until one day the only place in town with SURGE was a fast food Italian restaurant. Then I was heartbroken when I saw yellow liquid come out of my faithful fountain machine.

Earlier this week I told a lady at work about SURGE and how much I missed the wonderful drink. The next day she saw the AP story and immediately e-mailed me. I am soooo excited to know that I am not alone in my quest for SURGE!!! I had never really even liked soft drinks, until SURGE! My family and friends thought I was crazy to get so excited over a soft drink - but they'll drink anything. I don't drink soft drinks now, why bother? There is nothing out there like SURGE.

I told my mom about savesurge.org and she couldn't believe there are others like me still wishing for a drink that has been gone for sooooo long. She said to give it up, but I will never give up hope of once again tasting SURGE!
