Jason tells us his thoughts on SURGE
My Memories of Surge do indeed run deeply
in the depths of my mind. My first recollection of tasting the world's
absolute and best fully loaded citrus soda was several years ago,
while working at a local supermarket. There was a buzz throughout
the store and from the Coca Cola vendor about how Surge was the
next Mountain Dew, a rival of sorts. Of course I was truly interested
and wanted to see what all the hoop-la was about. Surge was eventually
merchandised in our supermarket and my initial reaction was one
of, well, it wasnt a strong reaction to be honest. I did however,
find the packaging to be eye catching and rather (let me get kind
of loose here) awesome!!
I was going to take a 15 minutes
break is when I decided to try Surge. I walked back to the Coca
Cola 12 ounce can vending machine, dropped in my 50 cents and press
on the newly placed Surge sticker. I reached my hands into the machine's
well and pulled out the Surge. I quickly popped the top and drank
one solid swallow. I was truly impressed by its taste. The taste
was smooth, sublime, but also had a little "tang" to it.
Surge was very much a far superior drink that Mountain Dew I thought
to myself. After that day, I believe I was one of the few people
at the supermarket who would drink it on a regular basis.
I must admit I am not as fanatical
or loving of Surge as the rest of the people on this site. But one
thing I am is a man of tradition and memories. Surge did create
memories for me and my friends. From just me drinking some while
taking a nice relaxing break from work or my friends and I mixing
the lovely nectar with Jagermeister to create a "Bob Dylan"
a truly wonderful mixed drink. This site has made me realize that
I too, need Surge in my life. From this day forth I will do my best
to support the conservation and preservation of Surge Cola.
Sincerely
Jason L Owings
