7 Question Interview with John Worthington Jr.
Since John Worthington Jr. joined the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board in September 2003, he has been one of the most active participants in the community. Known on the board as Tsik, he has shown tremendous dedication to the daily growth of SaveSURGE.org not only with his conversation, but by spreading the word to others as well. John sat down with us to discuss his induction into the Hall:

1. What's the best part about being in the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
I'm pretty amazed that I was nominated, it's great to be in such company...once Surge does come back I'm going to be listed here with people who have written songs and made movies to bring back Surge, I feel unworthy. It's quite an honor.

2. What makes SURGE your favorite soda?
The taste...I can't think of anything else that was like it, even now nothing is close. And the color too... and well, pretty much everything about it was just different from anything else. It's been a long time since I've had one but things are looking pretty good right now, I think that may be over soon.

3. Do you think Coca-Cola and its bottlers will bring SURGE back?
I've always thought they would if there was enough demand, and with what's gone down in the past few months I think it may be back pretty soon...maybe not with the same name or the same graphics but it doesn't matter as long as they don't mess with the formula. But it's not over yet, we gotta keep doing all we can, we gotta keep on going until we get Surge back in the stores. I think it's a really good sign, Coke renewing the surge.com domain, that's gotta be positive.

4. Describe how you felt when you realized that SURGE was no longer available in bottles and cans.
For a long time I didn't really know what had happened, I didn't know they stopped making it until I found SS.org, I just figured I wasn't looking hard enough or something. But when I did find out it was a major disappointment.

5. How did you feel when you found out that SaveSURGE.org was trying to bring it back?
It was kind of amazing, really, I didn't realize so many people loved Surge. I told a lot of people about it and most people thought it was either stupid or crazy, but what do they know? This place is truely committed. I knew once I found it that I'd be sticking around as long as the effort to bring it back continued.

6. If Coca-Cola gave you the chance to tell them why SURGE should come back in 25 words or less, what would you say to them?
Coke, you've gotta do this. You're only hurting yourself by not satisfying the customers. Time to bring Surge back. Do it and you won't regret it.

7. Why do you feel that you have been enshrined as a member of the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
It probably has something to do with all the posting I do on the SS message board. That and how much I enjoy Surge. Being a hall of famer is great, but having Surge back will be even better.
