I would truly be at a loss without Surge. I do not like the taste of colas, and lemon lime sodas are boring. Surge is a perfectly satisfying taste. My patronage to Surge is loyal beyond any other beverage or product. I once went to a Wawa in Philly and bought four 44 oz cups, fearing Surge might soon disappear from the store (which it did). Knowing I could not drink all four cups, I also bought a gallon of water, emptied the water, and stored the Surge in that container. Currently, there is a 7-11 across the street from where I work in Philly (19th & JFK), and I refill a 64 oz cup 2-3 times a week there. The clerks there have even confessed to me that it is my continual business which keeps the Surge on tap.

When it was available in 2 liter bottles, I would take one onto the tennis court during college matches and drink ½ - 2/3 of it throughout the match. It is less carbonated than regular soda, yet has more sugar than the average juice. So it was a perfect drink for me while playing tennis, since I am diabetic, and need to balance my blood sugar. The taste was very satisfying for competition, it quenched my thirst, and it kept my blood sugar in control. Drinking Surge struck a positive chord of fear and respect with opponents and teammates alike, due to the amount of caffeine and extreme image associated with Surge. When Surge moved to cans exclusively, I would fill our hotel sink with ice and chill cans of Surge before my matches. At Temple University, I even made two :30 second commercials promoting Surge as my final film project. I also devoted a Digital Audio Production class's final project to make the audio for the commercials.

Today, I only have a few old cans (WCW Goldberg + Booker T cans) of it left, which I ration out during very special occasions, not knowing if my supply will ever be replenished. As for other surge paraphernalia, I also own the Surge bucket hat, the stack of 100 small Surge cups, and the Surge CD-ROM.

As for non-surge stuff, I work in an ad-rep firm, where we buy time for TV commercials. And my big passion other than tennis is for music: listening and going to see shows. Among my favorites are Bjork, Mike Patton (Faith No More/ Mr. Bungle), Ween, Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman), They Might Be Giants, Elvis Costello, XTC, and the Flaming Lips.
