Criteria Hall of Famers Nominations SaveSURGE.org

Matt Brault (Puckdropper)

7 Question Interview with Matt Brault (Puckdropper)
Puckdropper has been a tremendous contributor to SaveSURGE.org since 2002. "Contributor" may just be the best way to describe what he means to this site, although it surely doesn't do him justice. He truly cares about SURGE and he is determined to find ways to help SaveSURGE.org get its message across to more people. Every member of the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame is here because they have added something unique to the community and Matt given us a whole lot over the years. His induction is long overdue but as they say, "better late than never". He spoke with us about his love of SURGE and his induction into the Hall:

1. What's the best part about being in the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
Being recognized by someone else for doing something good. All too often attention is given to someone for negative things.

2. What makes SURGE your favorite soda?
Taste. If it tastes like earth (black-eyed peas) or something equally as bad, I'd never drink it.

Btw, I'm from Illinois and it's "pop" not "soda." ;-)

3. Do you think Coca-Cola and its bottlers will bring SURGE back?
Yes, I do. Either that, or I'll win the lottery (without buying a ticket, mind you) and bottle it myself. I think with different advertising, Surge could be tremendously successful.

4. Describe how you felt when you realized that SURGE was no longer available in bottles and cans.
I didn't really know it was discontinued in those forms (and now it seems in all forms) until I came across SaveSURGE.org. I always thought it weird that Citra held on while Surge was being phased out.

5. How did you feel when you found out that SaveSURGE.org was trying to bring it back?
On a whim, I googled "Surge" and came up with SaveSURGE.org. I wasn't so concerned with SaveSURGE's mission to bring it back as where to get it. Unfortunately, all the sightings I visited didn't have it any more. (Or if they did there wasn't enough detail to make sure "Burger King in Belvidere, IL" was the right one.)

6. If Coca-Cola gave you the chance to tell them why SURGE should come back in 25 words or less, what would you say to them?
In this world of increasing profits, why not bring back Surge to increase profits? If promoted well, Surge WILL be profitable.

7. Why do you feel that you have been enshrined as a member of the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
It's probably a combination of many things. I make the occasional suggestion, submit something interesting, and try to correct some of the misconceptions about Surge.
