Criteria Hall of Famers Nominations SaveSURGE.org

Andrew Rector

7 Question Interview with Andrew Rector
Andrew Rector has been a longtime friend of SaveSURGE.org. He has been a very active member of the SaveSURGE.org Bulletin Board and has tirelessly campaigned for the soda he loves. He took time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about being in the Hall:

1. What’s the best part about being in the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
The best part about being in the SaveSurge.org hall of fame is being recognized for my effort and participation in helping spread the word about Surge and bringing Surge back.

2. What makes SURGE your favorite soda?
What makes Surge one of my favorite sodas is its unique, refreshing citrus taste, unlike any other soda. It is hard to clone and is original, just like Josta was- which was my other favorite soda by the way. I also liked the high caffiene content which kept me going during the day.

3. Do you think Coca-Cola and its bottlers will bring SURGE back?
We've made it so far and have more supporters and followers than ever before, and Coke is aware of SaveSurge.org, so why would Coke suddenly ignore us. Citra is coming back at least in some areas as Fanta Citrus, so I do think Coke will bring back Surge in the not so distant future- but only if we keep insisting. And if Coke brings back Surge, CCE will follow to bottle it.

4. Describe how you felt when you realized that SURGE was no longer available in bottles and cans.
When I first noticed Surge started to fade away, I was holping that it was just in short supply and would be coming back. I was wrong! I was disappointed and upset when Surge was gone without a forewarning. I wish I would have stocked up on Surge before it disappeared.

5. How did you feel when you found out that SaveSURGE.org was trying to bring it back?
One day when I was wondering what happened to Surge I did an online search and found SaveSurge.org I was glad I wasn't the only one who remembered Surge and wanted it back. I thought it was great that someone actually set up a website with a petition, locations were you could find Surge, dedication photos, and eventually a message board.

6. If Coca-Cola gave you the chance to tell them why SURGE should come back in 25 words or less, what would you say to them?
Look at www.savesurge.org, over 5000 petition signatures. Read the message board, look at the photos, is this proof not enough to bring back Surge?

7. Why do you feel that you have been enshrined as a member of the SaveSURGE.org Hall of Fame?
I feel I have been enshrined into the hall of fame because I have been here long enough to make a dent in SaveSurge.org. While I may have not made fancy logos, pictures, or rap jingles, I have been here constantly over and over again, as it shows as I am #6 in message board posts with over 500 posts. Back in September during Save Surge month I did my part by posting flyers everywhere in my area, contacting Coke headquarters and my local Coke bottler, and sporting my Surge bucket hat; which is another contribution. I am also on the lookout for Surge wherever my travels take me, as I have reported one Surge sighting and a few deletions. I am glad to be in the hall of fame and feel I have earned it. Thanks for putting me into the SaveSurge.org hall of fame.
