For the Love of SURGE

Eric's Last SURGE
Eric Greene is longtime fan of SURGE who wanted to save one of his last cans of his favorite soda for a special occasion. He saved it for his wedding day. He shares his story and photos below:

I have been a huge fan of SURGE ever since I saw the commercial on Super Bowl Sunday in 1997. It just seemed to fit my personality. I really became a big fan while I was in College the next year. I drank it almost every day. My classmates remembered me because I always had a can of SURGE. I am not sure how I would have survived, if it weren’t for my tasty drink. SURGE really helped me focus on tests, and I did much better than I would normally. I even had to run back to my dorm room to grab a SURGE before a big test. That is commitment.

I really panicked when I found out that SURGE was no longer being replenished. I went and bought twelve 12-packs. I thought I would have enough to last me a while. My roommate thought I was nuts, but he understood my passion. To make a long story short, I ran out. A year later I found an old vending machine at my apartment complex that still had SURGE. I spent at least $10 and bought every last can.

Well, I finally did it. I got hitched. I got married on September 4, 2004. On my wedding day, I had planned on drinking one of my last two SURGE cans. I made sure that I was caught in action. Let's just say that my last SURGE made me feel like I was in heaven. I hope that this last fond memory of SURGE will put an end to my dreams.

SURGE fan for life
