DucT TapE Remembers Orlando Surge Roller Hockey
DucT TapE wrote in to share some memories of his experience of watching the Orlando Surge play roller hockey, while playing on the Surge junior team himself. No word on whether the team was in any way affiliated with our beloved soda.

My jersey is for the junior team

The yellow jersey is the Surge select team
Well it all started when Inlines skate center opened back in 1998.
When Mark Rimer helped open it up he played goalie for the #1 MLRH team The Jackals. By 99 the team had problems so they didn't play for a year till the Surge was formed. They quickly became the #1 team.
The rink was the best place to play Hockey in central FL and there was just nowhere else close enough to play.
I can remember how great this place was cause I lived there just like every one else. Later on when Glen and Cathie Alper had stoped running the place things were real hard for that last few months till the very end.
So a while after the rink opened the PRO Surge was formed along with 8 and up teams. I had played on the 12 and 14 teams. We played in lots of tournaments from south Florida to Atlanta.
My time at Inlines was the best nonthing can match it.
