Davidson Owns SURGE Cab #24
Davidson purchased a SURGE cab several years ago on eBay. He didn't know just how famous his car was until he was approached by a stranger who saw it on SaveSURGE.org! He wrote in to share some details about his special car:
Dear Savesurge.org,
I'd like to inform you that I am the owner of the Surge Checker Cab that was recently posted on your site. I found out that my car was famous when I was moving out of the Friley parking lot after finishing up being an RA for the OPPTAG program and a person riding a BMX style bike came up to me and told me that my car was being talked about on Internet forums. I purchased it nearly four years ago off of Ebay and picked it up from Denver CO. At the time I did not know its origin, but I later found out that it was given away as a promotional item by Coke. Unfortunately the condition of the car has worsened since I've owned it due to vandalism, someone decided to throw cinder blocks through the back window, high-school parking lots, I got side swiped while I was in class and of course the security cameras were pointed toward the school to catch skippers instead of the parking lot, and finally due to driver error when I was driving to fast for the weather conditions and put it into a ditch.
On the inside of the door panel it has a sticker that says #24 so I assume that it was the 24th car given away. This car is my everyday car, and caused me to receive the nickname Crazy Taxi Dave at Cornell College.
Thanks for your time,
Davidson W.
