like to say; "Any publicity is good publicity". Still,
we've been fortunate to have obtained some positive publicity since
going online in February of 2002. Below you will find some articles

SaveSURGE.org was mentioned in Fortune's Andy Serwer's "Street Life" column. He writes: "Some people write to their Congressional representative about issues they feel very strongly about and some people write to their local Coca-Cola bottler to try to save their favorite soft drink. Apparently there is quite some momentum behind the movement to save Surge, which is quickly slipping from existence. The website http://www.savesurge.org offers news, wallpaper for your computer, copies of "Save Surge—The Movie", recipes (OK, there's only one), Surge sightings (none), t-shirts, stories, and photographs of the beloved soda. I don't personally recall Surge, but I want to try it now! Damn, it must be good!"
-Not completely accurate as we have more than just one recipe, but it's an honor to be mentioned by Fortune! |

online communities and SaveSURGE.org is among them (strangley
the URL they printed was that of our links page...). |

USA Today selected us as one of their
Hot Sites for Thursday, July 31! This is one of the oldest and
the most prestigious "site of the day" honors

"If you're a SURGE addict, and you're not running caffeine-induced
laps around your block, settle down and check out savesurge.org.
SURGE has been fading fast since its 1997 introduction
the hopped-up soda's found mostly in fountain form now
but you can check out unique ways to save it and learn about
the general plight of SURGE. Meet the SURGE lovers behind the
movement, compare SURGE's caffeine content with other leading
sodas, and see photos submitted by super SURGE slurpers." |

KLAS
Weird Website of the Week
Two press items in one day? Ok, I think
we're almost overexposed! KLAS
TV in Las Vegas, NV selected us as their Weird Website of the
Week. The site was also broadcast on their nightly news - the
first bit of TV exposure as far as we know. Here's what they
had to say:
"This weeks weird website is odd because of its
passion for a type of pop.
At SaveSurge.org you'll be able to work to save surge soda.
The pop was introduced in 19-97 but has been declining in popularity.
At the site you can sign a petition to save the soda, find where
to send letters, even given testimonials about the impact the
pop has had on your life. " |

in the article itself, but reporter Heather Todd did a great
job of painting SURGE fans in a positive light and showing the
world that people do indeed want their Fully Loaded Citrus Soda
back on store shelves. |
